Introduction	It is known as the Penang Free School building formerly. It was built in 1816 and houses a fine collection of historical documents, Malay treasures, Straits Chinese furniture, embroidery and custumes. It exhibits the fishing, agricultural and natural history of the island and its geographical educational and economic life. The art gallery displays several paintings - and holds frequent exhibitions of works - of local artists. Located at Farquhar Street, it opens daily from 9-12 noon and 2.45-5 pm. Closed on Sundays and public holidays, free admission. 追溯槟州丰富的文化遗产，位于华盖街（Lebuh Farquhar）的槟城博物馆及美术馆（Penang Museum and Art Gallery）乃是最佳起点。这间建于公元1821年的博物馆从前是一座学校，目前收藏有古老照片、地图、图表；刀剑、手枪、大炮等武器；陶瓷器、装饰品、木船、农机具等生活用品；还有第二次世界大战期间，日本殖民政府发行的货币、日军的文件、日语学校的毕业证书。二层是美术馆，主要介绍马来西亚的美术及手工艺术品。入口旁边有弗朗西斯.莱特的塑像以及槟榔山最初的缆车。 开放时间: 9:00－17:00.
